Universal Studios Singapore concept art

Universal has unveiled further details of its Singapore park, including a dark ride themed around the popular Madagascar movies.

Universal Studios Singapore is scheduled to open in early 2010, and is part of the $4.2 billion Sentosa Resorts World property. In addition to the Madagascar ride, Universal also showed off concept artwork depicting a 130-foot version of the Fairytale Castle from the Shrek movies.

Madagascar: A Crate Adventure will be an indoor boat ride featuring the animated characters from the Dreamworks movies. Universal says the ride will feature "animated figures, digital projection, evocative sound, and special effects that create a one-of-a-kind, funny and fun family ride".

for Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter will house a clone of the Shrek 4D attraction found at Universal's US parks.

When it opens, Universal Studios Singapore is set to feature 24 rides and attractions, distributed across 7 themed areas. A ride based on the Transformers movies is due to be added in 2011.

They should also bring the Madagascar attraction to Universal Orlando. After seeing some pictures of the ride, it looks like it would be a huge success.
