Disney has announced that Stitch's Supersonic Celebration, which only opened at the Magic Kingdom in May, is to close down on June 27.

The show has proven to be an expensive flop for Disney, lasting less than two months following its opening on May 6. Based on the popular alien cartoon character, the show featured a live dance troupe on stage and Disney may well be looking to cut costs following a poor audience reaction to the new show.

The Orlando Business Journal suggests that guests complained about having to queue out in the open in the heat of Florida - and probably appreciated being asked to dance along afterwards even less.

The plot of Stitch's Supersonic Celebration is centred on "Galaxy Day", a massive celebration involving "everyone in the galaxy". It sees a broadcast of the Tomorrowland News Network hijacked by Stitch, with guests learning dance moves from the on-stage dancers.

Stitch lives on in Tomorrowland, with Stitch's Great Escape! (a 4D show featuring an audio-animatronic Stitch) based nearby.

I think it is sad that it is to close as it must have taken so much time and money to create it but it is a sign of the times!!!
I wouldn't fancy standing in the boiling heat to queue!!!
Thanks TPT!!!
