Walt Disney World Resort has increased the single-day admission price for the Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon water parks by $5.
Adult tickets now cost $45, with child (aged 3-9) tickets costing $39. This represents a significant above-inflation price increase, with adult prices increased by 12.5% and kid's tickets by nearly 15%.
Not everyone need pay the extra. The Water Park Fun and More option available on US Magic Your Way tickets is still priced at $50 and allows a single entry to both parks. UK visitors can buy Disney's Ultimate or Premium tickets, both of which bundle entry to the water parks into the overall cost. As ever, it is worth shopping around online as internet resellers can often offer a discount on the standard Disney price - although Disney is currently offering a range of special offers targeted at those purchasing tickets at the same time as booking hotel rooms at the resort.
The Orlando Sentintel offers another clever money-saving suggestion for annual passholders - using a Birthday Fun Card. Disney is currently granting free admission to one of its four parks to all guests on their birthday. Annual passholders can get a Birthday Fun Card of equivalent value instead - and this can be used to pay for admission at the water parks (on any day - not just the guest's birthday).
Theme Park Tourist will soon be launching a "Price Watch" feature, aimed at helping readers find the best deals on theme park tickets.
