Walt Disney World has informed staff that the Space Mountain rollercoaster at the Magic Kingdom in Florida will reopen on November 22.
Screamscape reports that an e-mail sent to all Cast Members at the park lists the new reopening date. The e-mail also states that the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (situated next to Space Mountain) will reopen by August 25.
Space Mountain is undergoing a major rehabilitation which should see a complete replacement of the ride's track, trains and on-board sound system. The coaster ran in its current form for the last time today, with Tomorrowland Transit Authority also closing.
The news will be a boost to anyone planning to visit Walt Disney World over the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays, following rumors that Space Mountain could stay closed until March next year. However, the actual reopening dates will depend on progress of the refurbishment of both rides.
