Dollywood has announced that a new multiple station zip line attraction will open at the park in May.
The park, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, describes the SkyZip as a "premium experience", which suggests visitors will have to pay extra above the normal entry fee in order to ride it. The experience will last an hour, and will include "up to" five separate zip line ranging in length from 100 to nearly 1000 feet. From the park's description, it appears that zip lines will be arranged in a roughly circular format, allowing guests to ride them all and finish up back where they started - with a little walking in-between.
Zip lines see riders attaching to a cable, usually made of stainless steel, and traversing from top to bottom by attaching to a pulley. Dollywood claims the SkyZip is the first multiple station zip line attraction to open at a US theme park. It has been developed by Skyline Eco-Adventures, an experienced zip line operator based in Hawaii.
