Dark Knight coaster opens at Six Flags Mexico

The Dark Knight rollercoaster, based on the hit Batman movie, has opened at Six Flags Mexico.

The new coaster opened on March 19, and pictures can be found over at Theme Park Review. The ride is an indoor spinning coaster which pitches riders into darkness as they board a "Gotham City Rail" train, with the pictures showing impressive theming evoking images from the movie.

Six Flags Mexico is following in the footsteps of Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Great America, both of which saw similar Dark Knight coasters open last year. The ride launched at Six Flags Mexico was developed at a cost of $7.5 million, and was originally intended for Six Flags New England before problems with planning permission forced a re-think.
