Walt Disney World is offering free dining to guests booking a five-night/six day package at the resort.
To qualify, guests must book at least five nights in one of a selection of Walt Disney World Resort hotels, and at the same time purchase a Magic Your Way ticket for at least 6 days. In return, they'll get a free Disney Dining Plan for every member of the party. This includes one quick-service meal (such as a McDonalds), one snack (such as a cake or a bottle of coke) and one table-service meal for every night of the visit. Travel must be between August 16 and October 3, and some block-out days apply. Bookings must be made by June 21 to take advantage of the offer.
The offer of free dining is the latest in a series of low-cost deals that have been introduced by Disney and other Orlando resorts to try and pull in recession-hit guests. For those who can still afford a holiday, 2009 is shaping up to be an excellent year to visit Florida.
However, the cost of discounting is hitting home at Disney. With profit margins falling, the park has been laying off employees in droves, with a further 450 staff reportedly dismissed last week.
