The long-awaited flying coaster Manta will launch at Seaworld Orlando around May 25th, according to new ads at the park.
DoingFlorida reports that the opening date is revealed on hoardings surrounding the ride's construction area. These advertise Manta as "Opening Memorial Day weekend" - with Memorial Day falling on May 25th.
The coaster will see guests lying face down in a horizontal position, riding underneath cars shaped like giant manta rays. As well as reaching speeds of 60mph, and including four inversions, the ride distinguishes itself from other flying coasters (such as Air at Alton Towers) through its use of water - with riders almost skimming the surface at times.
Manta is the third major ride at Seaworld Orlando following Kraken and Journey to Atlantis, and is likely to be mobbed by crowds throughout its first season. TPT suggests arriving early to avoid a long wait.
