Universal has reportedly increased the cost of annual passes at the company's Orlando parks for 2009.

The new price structure is:

  • Power pass - $150 plus tax: Allows year-round entry to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, excluding some days of peak attendance.
  • Preferred pass - $229.99 plus tax: Provides access to both parks with no block-out dates, along with free parking and discounts on food and merchandise.
  • Premier pass - $289.99 plus tax: Adds preferred parking, access to CityWalk clubs and line-skipping privileges using Unlimited Universal Express Plus among other benefits.

The new price structure represents $10-30 increases on last year's prices. However, annual passes still represent excellent value for regular visitors to the park (with single-day tickets costing in the region of $85 for access to both parks).
