This week has seen exciting news for theme park fans of two Cedar Fair parks as it has been announced that both Kings Dominion and Carowinds will move to year-round operations beginning January 1, 2023.
Kings Dominion is located in Doswell, Virginia and from January 2023 will add additional weekends to the calendar in January, February and March giving season pass holders and fans of the theme park the opportunity to visit before the Spring. Kings Dominion also announced that the “2023 season also will see the return of annual, popular events at the park including Grand Carnivale, Halloween Haunt and WinterFest.”

Carowinds which is located in Charlotte, North Carolina will also move to year-round operations starting in 2023. The new calendar for 2023 has now been released.

Cedar Fair CEO and President, Richard A. Zimmerman said, “Consumer demand for our parks and resort properties is very strong, and we are excited about the growth opportunities ahead of us for the remainder of the 2022 season and longer term.”
