It looks like Main Street icon the Main Street Confectionery at the Magic Kingdom will be closing later this month for a lengthy refurbishment.
According to the official Walt Disney World calendar this attraction will be unavailable beginning March 29 2021 through to at least May 22 2021, which is the furthest date published on the operating hours calendar. Given this it seems likely that refurbishment will extend beyond this date.
This iconic part of Main Street USA is likely being refurbished as part of the park’s upcoming 50th anniversary celebration, which kicks off on October 1 2021. During this special celebration, some “EARidescence” will be added to well-known park icons around the resort, including the Tree of Life, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and more as they turn into “Beacons of Magic”. You can learn more about these limited time transformations here.
Though we don’t know how long this refurbishment will last, it seems safe to assume that this sweet stop on Main Street will be open once again by this October, and it will be great to see all of the changes that are made at this location.
