Located in Kansas City, Worlds of Fun is part of the Cedar Fair chain of theme parks. It boasts an extensive line-up of major roller coasters and thrill rides, as well as a large number of kids' rides in its sprawling Planet Snoopy area. The park's headline attractions are the towering Mamba hypercoaster, "airtime"-packed wooden coaster Prowler and the all-American inverted coaster Patriot. The neighboring water park, Oceans of Fun, is included in the admission price.

Park History

Opened in May 1973, Worlds of Fun was initially intended to be part of a major entertainment and hotel development. While the full vision was never realized, the theme park proved to be a viable business in its own right. After two decades of gradual expansion, it was sold to Cedar Fair in 1995. In addition to installing the Patriot roller coaster, the chain has also expanded the park's line-up for children, opening Camp Snoopy in 2001 and expanding it further to become Planet Snoopy in 2011.
