Located on Australia's Gold Coast, Warner Bros. Movie World is designed to offer a Universal Studios-style experience. In addition to being home to a real, working TV and movie studio, the park also boasts a growing line-up of major attractions. This includes Green Lantern Coaster (which features the steepest drop of any roller coaster in the Southern Hemisphere), Arkham Asylum - Shock Therapy (the first inverted roller coaster in Australia) and Superman Escape (a high-speed Intamin Accelerator coaster). A variety of live shows are also on offer, including the multi-million dollar Hollywood Stunt Driver spectacular.
Park History
Originally opened in 1991, Warner Bros. Movie World was located next to the Warner Roadshow Studio production facility. Its creation was led by C.V. Wood, who already boasted an impressive CV, having been General Manager of Disneyland before a falling out with Walt Disney led to him being fired. While its initial roster of attractions were primarily tours and shows focused on educating guests about production processes, the park has gradually installed a range of more traditional theme park attractions.
