As a physical education major, sports are clearly an interest. Adding the fact that I am a Disney fanatic, Disney's All-Star Sports is a perfect mash-up of the two.
The biggest pro to this All-Star resort in comparison to the other two is the fact that All-Star Sports is the closest to any of the Disney World locations. When a bus runs between all three All-Star resorts, the All-Star sports is typically guaranteed a spot on the bus, and, for some, most importantly a seat on the bus instead of having to stand.
Aside from the transportation, the resort offers any sports fan a great experience. During one stay at the resort, I can recall several groups out on the football field throwing the pigskin around or even getting out a few Nerf footballs for some fun away from the parks. Being smack in the middle of your favorite sports blown up to a large scale is an awesome feeling.
My wife, who was a cheerleader in high school, even found a jumbo cheerleading megaphone that covers the staircase at one of the buildings. We placed her in such a way that allowed the picture to give a slight optical illusion and make it look like she was holding the megaphone. Experiences like this are the reason why the value resorts at Disney can be some of the more enjoyable resorts at Disney World.
