Located in Eureka, Missouri, Six Flags St. Louis offers the chain's usual array of intense thrill rides. Major roller coasters at the park include Batman: The Ride (an inverted coaster), Screamin' Eagle (once the world's tallest and fastest wooden coaster) and The Boss (an epic wooden coaster that features a 5,000-foot-plus circuit). The park is aimed primarily at teens and young adults, but a variety of off-the-shelf kids rides are packed into the Bugs Bunny National Park area.
Park History
Originally named Six Flags Over Mid-America, Six Flags St. Louis was the third park to open in the chain after Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Over Georgia. The first park to be fully owned by Six Flags, it cost $55 million to build and borrowed the theme of the two original parks, with its "lands" celebrating the different flags that have flown over St. Louis during its history. As with other Six Flags parks, the emphasis on this theme has diminished over the years, in favor of major roller coasters and off-the-shelf midway rides.
