Key Information
Formerly known as Superman: Ride of Steel and Bizarro, Superman: The Ride is a 208-feet-tall hypercoaster manufactured by Swiss firm Intamin. While it features no inversions, the ride makes up for this through sheer speed, maxing out at some 77 miles per hour. It also features several "airtime" hills, making it a popular favorite among coaster enthusiasts.
The ride was transformed to the Bizarro theme in 2009, with the track being repainted with a purple color. In 2016, Six Flags reversed that change and brought back the Superman name, as well as the red and blue color scheme.
During the 2016 season, guests were optionally able to don a Virtual Reality headset, which took them on an adventure with Superman that was synchronized with the coaster's movements.
