Key Information
Opened in May 1976 at a cost of $2 million, Revolution is a steel roller coaster designed by Werner Stengel. It was the first modern coaster to feature a vertical loop, and was previously known as Great American Revolution. The ride's circuit snakes in and out of woodland in the Baja Ridge area.
For 2016, the ride was renamed as The New Revolution and underwent a major renovation. The track was painted white and blue, with all-new trains being installed. These feature lap and calf bars, rather than the hated over-the-shoulder restraints of the previous trains.
Riders can optionally wear a virtual reality headset which will take them on a high-speed journey in a fighter jet that is taking on an alien invasion, synchronized with the movements of the coaster itself.
