Whereas the original Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld Orlando is a hybrid dark ride/water coaster, and SeaWorld San Diego's version is a more traditional water coaster, SeaWorld San Antonio's installation of the ride is essentially a traditional "shoot-the-chutes" attraction.
Riders are carried to the top of a 100-foot hill, before rotating on a turntable that offers them views across the entire park. A short backwards "camelback" drop is followed by a second turntable, before the boat plummets down into a splash zone below.
