Flambards is the largest theme park in Cornwall, England and is located in the town of Helston. The family-run park offers a somewhat unique blend of historical exhibits focused on World War II, the Victorian period and science, along with a selection of more traditional theme park rides. The largest of these are located in the Big Ride Zone, including the Hornet roller coaster and Skyraker drop tower, while Ferdi's Funland (named after Ferdi Flambard, the park's mascot) hosts a variety of small-scale children's rides.
Park History
Opened in 1976 as Cornwall Aircraft Park, the park was originally home to a variety of exhibits focused on the aviation industry. Eventually renamed as The Flambards Experience, it gradually expanded in the proceeding decades to incorporate a variety of additional attractions. Facing competition from Camel Creek, the park has introduced a number of new rides in recent years, with the most significant being the Skyraker spinning drop tower - the first of its kind in the UK.
