Located close to the coastal town of Skegness, Fantasy Island is a classic seaside amusement park. Sandwiched in-between a number of holiday parks, it attracts holidaymakers during the summer season, but houses several of its rides indoors in order to avoid being fully reliant on the British weather. The park hosts a selection of thrill rides, including four roller coasters and the world's first Mondial Ultra Max (an inverting "frisbee"-style ride), along with a number of family-friendly offerings. Attractions can be paid for individually, or guests can purchase "unlimited ride" wristbands.
Park History
Fantasy Island first opened in 1995, and has expanded significantly since then. Progress, however, was slow until the addition of the Volcanic Impact S&S Space Shot ride in 1998, which was followed by the Millenium roller coaster a year later. The inverted Oddsey - the third-tallest roller coaster in the UK - followed in 2002, and the park's ambitious start to the new millenium continued with opening of the Amazing Confusion, the first Mondial Ultra Max on the planet. This ride was running till 2018.
