Maelstrom is an Intamin-designed gyro swing ride, which can hold up to 32 guests at a time on its circular gondola. This is suspended on a long arm, and swings backwards and forwards to a maximum height of 74 feet, spinning rapidly as it goes. Theming surrounding the ride is used to suggest that it is located in a coastal village that been devastated by a storm.
