Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opened at Disney's Hollywood Studios on December 5, 2019. This attraction is a more traditional dark ride experience, and uses some amazing technology to bring the world of the First Order to life
This attraction has a whopping total of 305 animatronic figures and droids, almost a third of which are Stormtroopers. In addition, this attraction has 18 different show scenes that involve 5 different ride systems, making it one of the most (if not the most) technically advanced rides at a Disney park ever.
The entire Star Wars: Ride of the Resistance experience is said to be a half hour long, with three pre-show segments happening before the ride itself, which is less than ten minutes long.
The ride is set in the new land - Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - where visitors enter the village of Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, a remote trading planet. Here, there are cantinas and restaurants with curious concoctions and galactic foods, shops selling ancient Star Wars antiquities, a hidden Resistance rendezvous area and even a First Order base. .
At this time (summer 2021), guests are required to join the virtual queue to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. A standby queue is not available. The virtual queue is limited and subject to availability.
