Key Information
One of Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s most iconic rides, The Big Dipper was first constructed in 1923, and subsequently extended in 1936. It received another major upgrade ahead of the 2010 season, with a refurbished station and repainted trains.
The classic wooden roller coaster sees riders boarding old-style trains that feature padded seats. These are pulled to the top of a 60-feet-tall lift hill, hitting a top speed of 40 miles per hour as they race over a series of further hills during its 3,000-feet-long circuit.
