Roller coaster

Themed around an Alpine bobsled track, Avalanche was the first Mack Steel Bobsled roller coaster to open in the UK back in 1988. After queuing through a mock Alpine lodge, guests board one of 3 trains, each of which consists of 7 cars. As on Disneyland’s old-style Matterhorn trains, up to 2 riders can sit in each car, one behind the other.

After climbing up a standard lift hill, the trains enter the main circuit. This features no track, with the cars instead rolling down its length on wheels. Riders race around a number of banked turns, eventually hitting two short brake runs at the end before coasting back into the station.
