Towers Street

Opening Date:
Mar 31, 1987

The Alton Towers monorail opened in 1987, and provides transport between the resort's car parks and the theme park. During their journey, guests get a great view of attractions such as Nemesis and Air before being dropped at the entrance to Towers Street.

The monorail features a number of themed trains, each of which is uniquely decorated and includes a distinct soundtrack. Themes includes Mutiny Bay Train (a pirate-themed train), Moo-norail (a cow-themed train), Jelly Bean Train (a sweetshop-themed train) and The Fish Bowl (a Sea Life-themed train).

The monorail can process guests at a rapid pace, but queues can develop at closing time so leave a little early if you need to get away quickly.
