I don't even think anyone realizes how much good food there is to enjoy here. Yes, there is some typical quick services, including Flame Tree BBQ and Restaurantosaurus, but those are just the tip of the iceberg.

Satu'li Canteen has delicious and unique dishes such as different types of build your own rice and noodle bowls, including vegetarian and allergy friendly options as well. Yet, the most sought after dish here is probably the famous Cheeseburger Pods. Perfect for any picky eater or child in your group. This quick service is located in the Pandora section of the park as well, so expect beautiful views as you dine under there covered patio.

Another hidden gem for food would have to be Yak and Yeti. Now, while yes, this is a sit down restaurant, did you also know they have a quick service window too? Perfect for when you get a craving for some asian inspired cuisine but do not have much time to sit down for a full meal. Yak and Yeti can be found inside the Asia section of the park and even serves up breakfast in the morning. So be sure to check this one out.

Lastly in the food department, snacks. There are so many good and unique snacks to be found in Animal Kingdom, but I am just going to touch upon some of my favorites.

The grilled corn on the cob at the Harambe Fruit Market is the most simple, yet one of the most delicious snacks in all of Disney World. It is so juicy and full of flavor. This could easily pass as a light lunch, and it is gluten free.

Kamal's Fries in Asia is the perfect savory snack if you are looking for something quick to walk around the park with. It is also the perfect snack to take with you and enjoy during a Kite Tails show.

Nomad Lounge is a fantastic option for not only some amazing savory snacks, but drinks too. In order to get in you do have to add your family to a walk up list as it is a sit down lounge atmosphere, so be prepared to wait. However it is so worth it. It is located inside the Discovery Island section of the park, just outside Africa. They have an amazingly unique and fun cocktail menu, even including mocktails for those non-drinkers in your party. Their churros and yucca fries are so delicious and are gluten free. They also have an outdoor seating space that is covered and sits along the river, which I highly recommend doing if you can find a free table.

Finally, and probably my favorite snack spot in all of Animal Kingdom; Tamu Tamu Refreshments. Not only do I think it has the best Dole Whip in all of Walt Disney World, but they serve breakfast and other unique ice cream as well. They also have the cutest outdoor eating spot that is covered in thin planks of wood. This courtyard can even be rented out for weddings! It's perfect for a cool snack and a place to enjoy the shade. Tamu Tamu Refreshments can be found in the Africa section of Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Ok, so did you also know Animal Kingdom is home to some amazing shows and entertainment? First off, inside Africa along the Harambe Market streets, they have the Tam Tam Drummers who are amazing and so much fun to sing and dance with. This is also where you can find Kora Tinga Tinga playing a special musical instrument specific to this region.

Then of course there are the famous Flotilla's, riding through the river's of Animal Kingdom. This is where Mickey, Minnie and all of their friends can be spotted in their jungle best! Along with rare character sightings of Kevin from "Up", and the gorgeous DiVine (that is of course if you can find her).

Next we have the newest show, KiteTails! Located in Asia within the outdoor arena surrounding the lake. This unique and fun show takes three Disney classic films and recreates them into a kite flying masterpiece. Including iconic characters such as Simba and Baloo, and songs like "I wanna be like you" and "I just can't wait to be King", guests can sing along as they watch these giant animal kites glide through the sky as cast members retell their stories in a very different way.

However, the show I want to highlight the most here is the not one, but two, incredible Broadway inspired, 1 hour long, performances that they have. "A Celebration of the Lion King" and "Finding Nemo: The Big Blue...and Beyond!" (re-opened June 13th, 2022), are both breathtaking and relaxing all at the same time. With amazingly talented singers and performers, as well as some of the best cast member interaction within the four parks I have ever seen, these shows are truly something to see and experience. It is also the perfect way to get out of the Florida heat for a while.

Finally, DinoLand. A world all of its own and perfect for the younger explorers in your group. With carnival games abound, a yummy ice cream truck and "The Boneyard" (a huge outdoor playground full of fun), your kids could get lost here for hours.

So that's it everyone. With all there is to do in Animal Kingdom, I truly believe this one of a kind park is just and undiscovered beauty for many of us. So the next time you may think about cutting your Animal Kingdom day short, or just skipping it all together, maybe think again. Oh, and have fun re-discovering, explorers!
