6. Cleanliness

Cedar Point Shores

We have all been to dirty parks. Disney guests are accustomed to a certain standard of cleanliness that not all amusement parks can live up to. However, I have found that Cedar Point rivals Disney’s cleanliness standards. They do a great job of keeping the park clean.

7. Ride and Slide

Cedar Point Shores is the waterpark located adjacent to Cedar Point. There are over 20 water slides, a wave pool, two lazy rivers, a splash pad, and a water playground.

8. Diverse Entertainment Options

Cedar Point offers several different entertainment choices. They have live music, character shows, and interactive dance parties. They usually have a nighttime spectacular show as well. These have been a highlight of many of my past trips.

9. Fun Character Interactions

If character interactions are one of your favorite parts of Walt Disney World, you are in luck. Cedar Point features appearances by Snoopy and the Peanuts gang. They have meet-and-greets throughout the park, or you can catch them at the Peanuts Sing-a-long, Charlie Brown’s Funtime Frolics, and the Beach Blanket Beagle show. Side note: I used to "be friends" with Sally Brown.

10. Other Activities

Parasail

Just like Disney World’s enchanting extras, Cedar Point has several non-park activities you can explore. On the peninsula that houses Cedar Point, there is a beach that offers jet ski, paddleboard, and kayak rentals. You can also parasail. Additionally, Cedar Point offers excursions from the Cedar Point Marina to Kelley’s Island or Put-in-Bay on Lake Erie. You can even charter a boat to go fishing or enjoy a swim.

Cedar Point is more than simply an amusement park, it is a full vacation destination. While it may not be the same as going to Walt Disney World, you are sure to have a magical time.

My family can visit CP for less than our WDW budget. It’s great. We can stay in the nicest Breakers room, buy tickets and upgrades. A lovely trip. But we won’t stay more than 3 nights. 2 full days of park tickets with 1 day of paid fast lane is enough. We ride roller coasters but are not the ride coasters all day type. 3 roller coasters a day is plenty for us in our 50s. Maybe if we were 15yo we’d ride ‘em all day.

CP may be a great alternative to WDW, it’s NOT a replacement. I can stay a week at WDW and still not see everything we’d like. We do WDW every 1-2 years during different seasons. There’s soooo much to do beyond just rides. We visit other resorts, new restaurants, different modes of transport, etc. I’m sorry but the best CP resort is only deluxe in it’s location, the rooms are not really even as nice as the newly remodeled value resorts. The room we like is over $400 a night… we stay for less at Poly and BeachClub on our DVC points. There’s a reason WDW gets the big bucks.

As a native Ohioan and not a roller coaster fanatic, CP doesn't compare to Disney parks. Plus Halloweekends are over crowded and understaffed. While I appreciate having it in the state, it lacks the charm, theming and quality of Disney parks.

Yea, but I live in Orlando. This is a bit more of a detour on the way home from the doctor's office, especially since I live about 12 miles from each of the toll plazas for the theme parks. :P
