Frozen Ever After

Image: DisneyYour answer on this one likely depends on whether you still shut your eyes and sing out loud whenever you hear Let It Go. If you do, your answer is clearly yes. If you’re suffering from Frozen Fever, the disease wherein you’re utterly sick of the film and all things pertaining to it, your answer is obviously no.

To me, Frozen Ever After is a masterpiece of an attraction. The set pieces are marvelously incorporated and provide unprecedented detail. The audio-animatronics are among the finest that Disney has ever crafted. I truly believe I’m looking at a reindeer’s tongue, a community of trolls, and a pair of sisters holding hands.

I also totally believe that I’m watching a frustrated princess make a critical life choice about her place in the world. The Let It Go sequence is seminal in the movie, and the attraction lovingly recreates the moment in all its power and glory. I’m hard-pressed to find a single fault with Frozen Ever After. But is it worth the wait?

Image: DisneyWell, the wait-time for Frozen Ever After hovers around 80 minutes during prime park hours. The attraction lasts for five minutes. That’s 16 minutes of wait-time for every minute of ride-time, and the ride itself is spectacular. So yes, Frozen Ever After is absolutely worth the wait.

I’m still going to make a blanket statement here, though. Proper implementation of the FastPass system is crucial to your enjoyment at Walt Disney World. The answer to all of the attractions listed here is “yes” if the question is, “Should I ride this if I can get a FastPass?”

Test Track

Image: DisneyOut of the rides listed here, three are new, which at least partially explains their current popularity. The other two are on this list because they still have large line queues decades after their debuts. That’s a credit to the underlying quality of each one.

Test Track’s innate popularity is understandable. The interior portion of the attraction is Tron-like in that it has dark backdrops intertwined with bright LED lighting. It’s just plain cool to look at. Also, the end of the ride features an outdoor element that is the happy place of many adrenaline junkies. Theme park tourists explode into daylight as the coaster cart speeds up to 64.9 miles per hour. It’s a thrilling sequence that punctuates a wonderful ride experience.

Image: DisneyIs Test Track worth the wait? The line queue here is generally right at 60 minutes during peak park hours. The attraction lasts for five full minutes, meaning that you wait 12 minutes for every one minute of ride-time. For Test Track, that’s an absolute bargain, and you even have a better option here. When you don’t care about building a monster car, you can get in the single rider line. That cuts the wait-time in half! Test Track is definitely worth the wait that way.
