3. Most people just walk by it now....
Today, The Lost Continent remains to many as simply the barrier between Seuss Landing and the Wizarding World. While much of the original theming still exists, it doesn't draw much of a crowd as it might have in the past. Attractions like Poseidon's Fury and The Eight Voyage of Sinbad often have short wait periods and are rarely considered a "must see" in Universal.
4. This land's time may be running out....
While The Lost Continent has beautiful buildings and theming, unfortunately its time seems to be running out. Although no official announcements have been made, with the closing of Dragon Challenge to make way for ANOTHER Harry Potter expansion, Universal may want to get rid of this land once and for all. Both the Mythos restaurant as well as the theater containing The Eighth Journey of Sinbad could easily be changed to accommodate a new show or entertainment offering, and we wouldn't be surprised if The Lost Continent became permanently lost to time in the next few years.
Whatever Universal has planning, there is a good chance that the rest of The Lost Continent will not remain in its current state for much longer. And although many Universal fans will miss the unique charm that The Lost Continent offered, in the long run a facelift would most likely be more profitable for the company and more entertaining for guests.
