4. The white room

White Room

Officially known as the Art Room, this portion of the ride was a massive, entirely white space filled with such stunning details as a pure white carousel with several animals. To one side, Figment was painting with a fiber optic brush, adding a pop of vibrant color. This room was truly breathtaking, and gave guests a clear understanding of the color that imagination could add to our lives.

5. The nightmare room

Nightmare Room

Near the beginning of the ride, Dreamfinder and Figment’s lighthearted banter about the power of imagination turned dark as they began to discuss what they could do with a bolt of lightning, especially when it was combined with “ghostly shivers on a stormy night.” Figment quickly changed the subject, but the concept was revisited after the White Room, as guests entered an intimidating space filled with oversized horror and mystery novels, the shadow of a black cat, and scary words spelled out in blocks. In one corner, Figment was trying desperately to keep a monster from escaping.

The room added a dose of the suspense for which classic Disney movies were famous, and encouraged budding writers to explore the dark side of their imaginations. It also helped more cynical visitors to enjoy the ride by giving them a brief break from the cheery lightheartedness that filled the rest of the attraction.

6. What about science-science-science?

Toward the end of the ride, guests passed Figment in a spacesuit before entering a slightly bizarre room filled with projectors. As Dreamfinder explained, the films took a close-up look at the science of our everyday world, speeding up and slowing down such natural processes as germination and crystal formation. In the background, Dreamfinder’s voice slowly echoed: “What about science-science-science?” That room was partially responsible for more than a few local kids’ decisions to become various types of scientists.
