4. Working through the night

There are some essential functions that no theme park can do without. Cleaning, maintenance, safety inspections...the list goes on and on. Disney parks are no different - but the company doesn't want you to actually see this work taking place. The solution? Armies of Cast Members descend upon each park every single night, carrying out repairs, sprucing up plants and refueling vehicles. You can read more about the nocturnal activities at Disney's parks in this article.

3. Clearing up

In the world outside Disney's theme parks, litter is often strewn everywhere. Even in the cleanliest of towns, you're likely to see a stray paper cup or candy bar wrapper blowing down the street. Not so at Disney's parks, where every effort is made to ensure that things are clean all the time. Trash cans are placed at carefully-spaced intervals, designed to ensure that most guests will use them. When they don't, Cast Members are ordered not to stroll past even a dropped napkin without picking it up. They shouldn't draw attention to themselves while doing so, however - they should try and so gracefully and unnoticed by guests.

Disney also makes extensive use of animals such as horses in its parks, particularly those based on the original Disneyland. The old-style carriages that are pulled up and down Main Street, USA are a throwback to days gone by. In those days gone by, however, they'd have been followed by a trail of waste, as the horses naturally need to perform their usual bodily functions. One of the less enjoyable jobs for a custodian at the parks has long been to scoop up the mess left behind by the horses, lest an unlucky guest set foot in it.

2. The Disney Look

Out in the real world, people's appearances vary dramastically. Not so at Disney theme parks, where Cast Members must follow a strictly-defined "Disney Look". Although the rules have been relaxed in recent years, Disney still requires that its staff must avoid eyeglasses that feature logos or bright colors, dying their hair to colors that do not look "natural" and wearing garish nail polish. Forget about visible tattoos and nose rings.

1. Undercover security

Disney security Crime is a fact of life in the real world, and Disney's theme parks are full of stores packed full of saleable goods. Naturally, these are a target for thieves. Disney, though, does not want its stores full of highly visible security guards to deter guests who may be tempted to stash an item or two and escape without paying for them. Instead, it uses plain-clothed "undercover shoppers", who are on-hand to quickly usher any offenders backstage before calling in the appropriate authorities.

What bus are you on?

A feeling of safety, fun and innocence of a childhood era gone by. No matter your age you feel young again when you are in the parks. Also the cleanliness and beautiful landscaping is a pleasure to the senses.

I would also like to add the whole 'Disney' experience begins for me as a driver, as I pass under the Welcome banner .. from then on I know that I will have no traffic hassles, and will be greeted by friendly Disney parking attendants. Its also such a pleasure at the end of the day to know I will be able to leave the parking lot without long waits and queues .. the last thing you need after a full day in the Parks. we have been to other places where its taken over an hour to leave the venue.. not fun.
