While I do agree that the original Journey was superior to the existing attraction, I feel it is far from an abomination.
I never saw the iteration in between that was sans Figment.
I've seen all 3 versions and the original Journey into Imagination is still the best. At least they brought back Figment. I too wish the dragon was still around MK. It would work great at Avatar Land but who knows if I'll get to see that?
you forgot Alien Encounter in the Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland section at WDW. I miss that one and the original Journey into Imagination and maybe Horizons at EPCOT.
Alien Encounter was open for more than 8 years. Not exactly closing right after it opened.

I miss Mr Toads wild ride at wdw also miss dreamflight. I liked the first Journey to Imagination.
Peter Pan is alive and well in both US parks. Are you thinking of Snow White?

Just got back from riding Peter Pan's Flight at Magic Kingdom. It has been my favorite ride for 30 years, and to my knowledge, has always been in operation at WDW.
Part of the reason I love living here in Anaheim. We still have Peter Pan AND Mr. Toad !

WDW still has Peter Pan's Flight. I miss Mr. Toad so much!
Does anyone miss Peter pan or Mr toads wild ride? Or am I just getting too old. As a kid just 20 years ago those were two of my favorite especially Peter pan. Im only 30 so it really wasn't that long ago

yes I do I'm 20 and loved Peter pan... oh and king Kong I cried when I saw it was closed because the mummy ride replaced it :(

So truthfully, why hasn't disney brought back the original journey into imagination? Being theme park tourist can't you investigate this story. Would love to hear why.
Went to Epcot last October and rode the new Journey into Imagination. So very sad when I exited the attraction! It is an Abomination of the original!! Who did this to this previously awesome attraction??
I totally agree they should have left the original attraction, the rehab all great they have Figment, the rest of the attraction compares nothing to the original.
Because people were sayong in the comments that it was only in CA.
I still miss Figment! I can't imagine why they ever got rid of that whole ride
