Who remembers "If you had wings" at the Magic Kingdom? It made travel look so glamorous and exotic. It was one of my childhood favorites.

How about Horizons? Best ride in Epcot. If You Had Wings. Another classic. World of Motion. Countdown to Extinction. Even though it technically is still there as Dinosaur, it's not the same.

I loved Mr Toad. Always rode it even as an adult.

I miss the live entertainment at EPCOT. Off Kilter is at the top of that list. I miss all of the ones mentioned. A lot of the magic is gone that used to be there in the past.

The original philharmonic that went to Japan was an original great the 3 D replacement is nice but it is motion picture original was animatronic and totally amazing real time set.

Mickey Mouse Review was the name. It should be on the list.

Don't you guys remember "If You Had Wings"? Do you remember where or was?

I grew up at Disney having been well over 100 times. I remember the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride. I was sad the day I discovered the magic behind the ride but was still disappointed when it closed down.

I definitely miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, but my favorite ride that was removed years ago was Delta Dreamflight.

I miss the "old" Crystal Palace when you could get in line for cafeteria style food. We loved the stuffed green peppers.
Remembering everything in this fun article really dates me!

#1 Journey Into Imagination, #2 Horizons, #3 The last version of Spaceship earth-- the ending is terrible now!! #4 The Living Seas, #5 World Of Motion. ~ Epcot has totally lost its identity, it's not the park it once was.

Our family misses River Country and Discovery Island. Both were great places to relax and unwind and offered great fun at a small additional price!! It makes me sad when we take the boat from Fort Wilderness to the MK and pass by these abandoned attractions.

I probably miss River Country most of all. With the slides ending up in the lagoon, it had some unique experiences that they never recreated at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.

The problem with Epcot is that they want sponsors for the attractions. Wonders of Life lost their sponsor and they could not find a new one. The attractions are still there. If you go to the Food and Wine festival, you can see the old phones behind screens. The Sponsor private lounge is still on the 2nd floor and used for special events. On one of the Behind the Scenes tours, the tour guide mentioned that one of the reasons the SkyWay was removed is they had a problem with people dropping things off of it and teenagers spitting off of it, neither of which is good. We need a list of things that we WANT to see removed, like the huge Mickey Hat in front of the Chinese Theater. It ruins the whole image of that street. You cannot even get a good photo of the theater!

Disappointed that Mickey & Minnie ' s cottages have disappeared. WHY? I do not care for the Circus entertainment. You can find that theme anyplace. Bring back the cottages..Can't imagine why you you would take them out of there in the first place. Bad move Disney, this is what the toddlers enjoyed with their parents. Let's put our thinking caps back on. Plus EPCOT will be overcrowded to enjoy the countries once you replace the ride with Frozen. All the land available that Disney has and you can't build a Frozen theme in another area. H'mmmm

River Country is the attraction that my family misses the most. We have always camped at Fort Wilderness and my children had this quaint water park at the campground. We always ride our bikes as close as we can get. My then pre teen girls thought th bathroo/bathhouse was so cool having hair dryers on the wall. My grandsons feel sad they never got to go there. Would love to see them do something with that area.

Agree on Mr.Toad's Wild Ride, still miss that. How could you leave Alien Encounter off this list?

I loved all of these! I actually got picked for the sound show ("Hey, Dave, what can you do with a turkey?
was the line I said), I still have all words and songs from Kitchen Kabaret memorized, and Journey Into Imagination was my favorite ride; I dreamt of it at least once a week during my youth.

Oh, and Body Wars gave me my first migraine, but I still loved it.

Veggie fruit fruit!

Kraft "The Land", when it was sponsored by Kraft was a family delight!Everyone would sing the "Veggie, veggie, fruit, fruit song like it was a giant sing along. The food court featured many delicious items that aren't sold anymore. Even the gift store had things you couldn't find anywhere else at Disney. Sure times change, but it was "The times of our lives!"

We visited Disneys Magic Kingdom just the other day and was very disappointed that they took out Mickey and Minnie's houses. I wasn't very impressed with the new addition..which is also the reason they removed the houses.

The SpectroMagic Parade in the Orlando Magic Kingdom was a wonderful and nostalgic parade. It's a real, cryin' shame that such a wonderful parade was put on hiatus in 2009 for a simple fixer-upper only to disappear for a few years only to have it officially closed in 2013.

Spectromagic was supposed to return last year, actually, but when they went to take old floats out of storage, it turned out they'd been attacked by termites and were damaged beyond repair.

This Was Seasonal But Still Very Missed. The Glory and Pageantry of Christmas Was Held nightly in Disney Marketplace/Village. They Stopped Doing This Free Show As The First Expansions of what is now Downtown Disney were taking shape.

Definitely agree with Horizons and World of Motion - both were SO amazing.

I noticed there was a tombstone for Mr.Toad outside of the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom after the ride was removed. Last week, I noticed the tombstone is now gone..... wonder if they'll bring the ride back?

He is back! CM said that he was being refurbished. Grins!

Pleasure Island and Alien Encounters.

Horizons and World of Motion should be on the list for sure, as well as the original Spaceship Earth.

Definitely Mr. Toad is one that all our family talks about every time we visit Disney World, no matter how many times a year we may visit. We also miss Adventurers Club and Comedy Club at PLeasure Island.

To omit "Horizons" while including "Monster Soundshow" is pretty glaring.

In reply to by Kelp Seaweed Kelp (not verified)

As I said in the article, Monster Soundshow is in there as an example of a TYPE of attraction that we miss, rather than a specific one.

Wait... How is Pleasure Island, and most notibly The Adventurers Club, not #1 on this list?!?!? Kungaloosh!

I have pictures of my husband and I riding the swan boat on the water around Cinderella's castle moat . There's still a landing, a lot of people don't remember what it was for.

In reply to by Visitor (not verified)

Landing was torn down a couple of weeks ago. Frozen crap involved.

H O R I Z O N S!
And of all things, I loved the WorldKey Information Center, where you booked dinner reservations live via video.

I loved that pre-skype reservation system at Epcot. Maybe it is because I nostalgically yearn for the days in which you could walk right up and reserve a same day table at any restaurant in Epcot, instead of having to know what and when you'll want to eat 6-months in advance!

Discovery Island was a wonderful alternative to the parks

What happened to Discovery Island

In reply to by Amy (not verified)

Discovery Island closed with the opening of Animal Kingdom. It was thought that two animal-centric parks was redundant. The animals that use to be on display there were moved to AK. It didn't have anything to do with the "bacteria" and neither did River Country's closure.

River Country did close because of bacteria. They were using "lake" water and as any native knows you don't put your head under in Florida lakes.

In reply to by Amy (not verified)

I think it had something to do with bacteria of some sort. That is why River Country closed.
