I was just there and the merchandise was there .plus i spoke to a CM and he told he that the name or the ride is not changing.
The only rational explanation is that fans of Joe Perry's (Aerosmith's lead guitarist) side project, The Joe Perry Project, have been secretly petitioning Disney (by the hundreds!) to have the name changed to The Joe Perry Project's Rock'n'Roller Coaster or The Joe Perry Rock'n'Roller Coaster Project... both awesome names. In two weeks, they basically plan to change the marquis out front, the pre-ride video and the in-ride track list to unforgettable hits like Let The Music Do The Talking, Conflict of Interest, Discount Dogs and Break Song. Long Live TJPP!
this would be a better re-theme attraction to Guardian of the Galaxy than anything else in WDW>
I was there with my family 3 weeks ago and all of the Aerosmith merchandise was still there. They did have some of the new Mickey Rock and roller coaster merchandise too. Even the Aerosmith band picture is still at the exit door.
