It's pretty much a show there though most of the security people do the best they can many have become disappointed in the work environment and how they realize they are mostly show and fancy front. My Nephew worked security for about a year and left due to micro-management, knee-jerk last minute changes and a outrages work schedule of a seven day work week and no allowances for time off including medical. So know that these people do what they can for safety but are limited in fact on what they can do in regards to real issues so it's not the guards fault for having to make people wait or be inconvenienced for a while it's Disney's desire to react and not pro-act. TCC has actually upset the security balance for all the parks and caused more issues than solved.

Oh, puhleeze. As in all cases with Security Theater, "making you safe" is not the point.

Agreed, if anyone wanted to, they can just bomb the area containing the bottleneck. Nuff said!

I would be happy if everyone was checked through the metal detectors.

Ok, all these supposed security actions are all fine and good. On the Disney Tram they state "NO ONE over the age of 14 is allowed to wear a MASK or costume, of any kind". Yet they allow Muslim women to wear FULL FACE COVERAGE. They also say "NO guns or toys that look like guns" yet Disney sells them at all the stores and rides like Pirates, Star Tours, Indiana Jones and all their gift stores. I'm confused ??

All gun type toys have been removed at those attraction gift shops, so I don't know what you're talking about. The rubber swords are still for sale, but I don't remember any other "weapons".

The point of the costume ban is more so that children (and their parents) do not confuse a random adult dressed as a princess of Star Wars character with a Disney employee. It is not, however, to ban religious expression.

What about the transportation system? To me, this is the most vulnerable area. A terrorist activity does not need to occur inside the parks to shut them down. If something happened on the monorail or at a bus stop or even in the security line, that would be enough to keep people away for a very long time, if not forever. Disney needs to address security from the very second people step onto their property, not just inside the parks.

Funny thing is the *gun* incident didn't even effect the theme parks at least to my knowledge.

Next if there is a major car accident near Disneyland property will we have anti car barriers installed every entrance?

If someone smokes when they are not suppose to will we have cigar cams to detect the faintest trace of cigarette smoke?

If you don't stop doing one thing then they will continue restraining our freedoms treating us all like potential criminals rather then people.

It's the job of intelligence to stop criminals BEFORE they enter public areas to hurt people. This shows a sign we don't have good intelligence agencies so they cover it up with *feel good* security tactics to shoulder the blame on public arenas/venues.
