This is going to backfire if it happens. They have raised regular ticket prices, adjusted Annual Passholder stipulations to now include blackout dates (unless you pay more for the highest pass), and have begun opening more and more table service restaurants which in essence cost more. Bringing food at least padded the cost of admission. Now they are going to force everyone to pay higher ticket prices and high prices for food? I realize the popularity of everything they are building, but watch the massive drop-off of local residents. The only real "perk" will be for the packages they are pushing.

A jump in ticket prices, a possible resort fee, and a possible ban on outside food! Some people will not go at all and some will go less often.

I don't think Disney should totally ban outside food, but maybe they should put a size limit on the lunch bag/cooler that can be brought into the parks. I understand some people bring in outside food to save money, but in some cases it has gotten too excessive; you don't need to pack enough food like you're mounting an expedition to Antarctica. I do agree that all outside food should be banned at the Animal Kingdom, except for those with very specific dietary needs, for the animals health and safety.

My family and I go about twice a week to disney. We bring our own food in, for the most part. We don't mind buying food from quick service places though, as we enjoy most of their food.but that's usually when it's just my wife and i. And, if we have the money, at a full service restaurant(that's usually for special occasions). But when it's us and the kids, we always bring some sort of food with us.

The last time I went to a Six Flags park, they didn't even let you bring in granola bars or sealed bottles of water. If they continue to allow snacks and water, it doesn't bother me. I enjoy eating the park food anyhow.

I never bring food into a park since I love to eat my way around Disney World, but I think Disney most definitely should keep their current policy of allowing guests to bring food - even full meals - into the parks. Yes, Disney is a business. I even own stock in Disney, so it would make it more profitable for me, even if just slightly, if they no longer allowed food into the parks. I don't care. Disney is pricing out too many families so that they cannot afford to visit Disney - ever! And, I want everyone to go to Disney since it's just such a wonderful place. I also think that if continue to allow guests to bring in their own food, more people would be able to afford to visit WDW and, in turn, those guests would then go home, tell people what a great experience it was, and then more people who may not have thought they could afford it would still be able to make the trip. Don't cut off the nose to spite the face.

I personally would probably stop going. You can barely afford your tickets to enter the park for the normal working class families. Now you want to stop the snacks and water from coming in! When you have a family of 6 or so you aren't going to be able to afford $4 PER bottle of water per person, how many of these for each person all day?? Not fair, I personally would not spend $60 on water for my family or $300 for snacks and food. You just can't expect this from the average working class families, that's besides your over priced gift items and balloons and everything else set up for parents to buy. Not fair Disney! Your trying to make the Disney experience unattainable to the average families.

I have to agree...with ticket prices escalating, many families teeter on the edge in affording a visit to the parks. I'd bet that the number of people carrying in food is such a minor number...c'mon Disney...get a clue! Not everyone can afford to be Vacation Club members, let along ticket prices. When you charge in excess of $3 for a fountain soft drink (without any refills), you should be ashamed of yourself. The cost of the up and coke product is probably pennies to Disney considering the huge quantities they buy just between Disney World and Disney Land. I've said this before and I'll repeat it again, Walt Disney is probably spinning in his grave realizing that all Disney is about now id profits...to hell with the customers...we've got plenty

We visit twice a month and eat a light sandwitch for lunch that we carry in with a small backpack and then eat dinner at an over-priced sit down. We are AP holders but with prices going up and the whole magical experience getting less enjoyable this would stop our AP purchases no doubt. So many FLA residents are already losing interest in Disney because it’s becoming more and more like the less expensive parks; nickel & dime BS.

A family of 4 pays upwards of $500 just to walk in the gate and then stand in line for hours and hours at each ride... Let them bring there own food.... Love Diseny but hate how they try to suck every dime you have, out of you...

As a celiac, this idea is problematic. Would I have to carry with me a doctor's note to prove I NEED a gluten-free diet? Although I understand from a business point of view how this idea could make the parks more money, it makes no sense from a practical standpoint. Its already tough to get restaurant reservations, never mind trying to get a table as a walk-in diner, and the quick service spots are usually a long wait. Now, if members of your family want different things, that's more time spent on food lines. Ugh! My family traditionally utilizes the long lines for rides to eat our packed lunches to eliminate wasted time. ... As for making trips "affordable" for us regular Joes, Disney has no obligation to accommodate us. With the parks often at near-capacity, its understandable that the price keeps going up. Until park attendance starts to suffer, you can expect the price to keep climbing.

Disney is one of the best at accommodating ANY dietary need whether it be allergy, celiac, gluten-free. There would be NO PROBLEM finding food to meet your needs! We know people with celiac and they said they eat better there than ANYWHERE ELSE.

I disagree with this. If you happen to have 1 food restriction, you might be able to eat there with little issue (although many with food restrictions just "live it up" for their vacation and pay the price after they get home). But if you have more than one food restriction (and many with gut or health issues do)...for instance we are dairy, soy, gluten, food dye, msg (and all it's 40+ hidden names) free and eat mostly a paleo diet...Disney could not accommodate our requests, and I would not expect them to. And there are many families that eat like this. So, when we eventually come back to the parks, it will be with food in tow.

If WDW doesn't allow people to bring in food from outside the parks, we will cancel our current plans to go there and we will not return. We eat plant-based and when at the parks, we eat vegan and even some vegetarian meals because there's not enough plant-based options. We always take in food because none of the parks offer enough plant-based foods. This would be a detrimental move for Disney.

I will be very angry if Disney decides to not let guest bring in their own food. We usually bring one meal to the parks with us consisting of sandwiches and fruit and chips. This not only saves us money but also time as my experience recently is that even for quick service options it takes forever to get your food. And nothing is worse than trying to cram yourself and a couple of trays of food in that tiny little space they expect to be able to handle two way traffic with guest waiting for their food for long periods of time.

I am sorry but if that policy on certain foods being brought into the park happens I'm not going to be very happy. Every time my family goes to Disney World we always bring a picnic lunch to save on money. Then we will usually eat dinner in the park at one of their fine dining restaurants. I just think that it costs too much to have to buy both lunch and dinner in the park so this helps us save.

Busch Gardens has always had this policy.

I think it would be wrong for Disney to do this I pay enough to get into the gate amd myself and half the people I come with are diabetic and for them to tell me I can't bring my own snacks in is wrong

you can not tell me that Disney needs to stop people from bringing in their own food!! They make a TON of money off overcharging those that choose to eat ANYWHERE in their parks or resorts!!!!! I do agree that the mammoth rolling coolers I've seen are excessive size-wise, as are the enormous backpacks and child strollers where those are difficult to screen for unwelcome items by security. I see no reason to stop snacks, water bottles from coming into the parks. Many people have dietary needs, but there are so many that also have strained their budgets just to buy a park entrance ticket. STOP THE GREEDY MADNESS DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I certainly hope the outside food restrictions are a rumor. Every restaurant is already packed to capacity or over booked for reservations. This would be an obvious cash grab that would only alienate people trying to budget. I rarely see folks picnicking anyway.

It is clear that Disney is trying to stop people from feeding the animals in Animal Kingdom since obvious signage is not enough for some people. That being the case, outside food should not be allowed in Animal Kingdom. I don't think Disney should change their policy in the other parks even though many parks in the US do not allow food through their gates.

Not bringing in food won't stop people from feeding the animals. Guests feed the birds at Flame Tree BBQ right from their plates/trays. The only way to stop people from feeding the animals is for CMs to enforce the rule. Disney needs to have CMs interact with guests who are doing this and tell them to STOP. Right now, all the CMs I've observed watching guests feed the birds simply look the other way.

I would hate not being able to bring food into the parks.

With the cost of ticket prices always on the rise, it's getting more and more difficult for people to afford to Disney. I don't mind seeing people stopping to pull out their own food to have a picnic. Most people only bring in enough to keep their blood sugar up without having to pay a fortune or keep their children happy.

Since Disney is pricing themselves out of reach for the middle class AMERICAN family the families have to cut corners somewhere and bringing snacks is the way to go. For a family of four to eat it could break the bank. The menu choices are sometimes not what everyone wants to eat I personally don't enjoy a dried out burger for $10.00.

tell me where you can find a hamburger for only $10 at any of the Disney parks/resorts!!

This is the only way some folks can enjoy the parks. I know a few families who tent camp and rely on their coolers and ice to provide the majority of the meals for their families so they all as a family can experience Disney on a dime. Without this option it could potentially out price them from being able to visit the parks. Lets face it, we are cutting corners in every day life and this is no exception to those who can still afford a vacation. Pretty soon Disney is going to out price just about everyone other than the very wealthy. I don't think Walt intended his parks to be a playground for the rich and famous. I know he intended this to be a place where all could enjoy, embrace as families and make wonderful memories.
