This article is mostly 'Universal haven't told us everything, we feel entitled to know their business ins and outs. How awful are they!'

Bad journalism here.

It is kind of funny that you say it will not return as the Hulk, but yet ALL Over IOA, it says the Hulk returning in 2016,therefore assuming that it will return as the Hulk just with changes. IOA has an entire area of Marvel and a I don't forsee them changing it because the rights were bought by Disney. Unless you have an insider view as to your claims of 2years etc I wouldn't make such large assumptions.

Now for those who have not read contract between Disney and universal ,universal only has 2 yrs of marvel rights after Disney bought it. After that Disney can do as it see fit. They have built one marvel the am park already and it went over well . Disney is look to build another the am park in the west side that's why they are developing the west side now and have bought more land . The hulk is changeing not sure what too. But it want be the hulk no more.

This is the most ridiculous article themeparktourist has ever wrote.

As far as the sky scraper coaster...I can only assume it has something to do with some sort of land acquisition / land rights thing that Universal doesn't want to loose. They are normally welcome to new attractions coming to I-drive. I know that their third planned video themed park is being developed right now so I would say this has something to do with it. The Hulk is clearly labeled all over Islands of Adventure as returning as The Incredible Hulk coaster in 2016 so I would assume they are doing some major changes to it which is why it is being kept under wraps.

Well, if they let all this information loose then I would think it would delay some fans from coming out... right? If you found out the hulk was opening next year and you live in Montana, wouldn't you wait till next year to come out? They gotta make that money on all the Halloween and holiday stuff for sure!

What are the 3 new rides? Fast and Furious and King Kong is all I can think of...

It's all probably like to build hype. Waiting for details on things like this builds excitement and curiosity

We are at the Resort now and the hostess at NBC Grill told me that they plan on opening Oct 6th.

Hulk is easy to explain. Disney picked up the Marvel rights and made a deal.

As long as universal wants the contract to use the rights to marvel....there is NOTHING Disney can do. This predated Disney. So it is still going to be hulk...until universal says no. And that would be a dumb move on their part, as they hold all of the cards to prevent Disney from building their own marvel attractions.

yes Disney owns Marvel, they have for a while. Universal is not getting rid of Hulk. It will in fact open again next summer under the SAME name. There is a contract between Disney and Universal about Marvel Island. That is Why Disney World Florida is the Only Disney park without Marvel attractions, just Character Meet and Greets.

It had nothing to do with Nintendo. Nintendo would not be able to go in Islands because it does not come from literature. Everything on the islands is either from a book, folk lore, myth, or comics. Even King Kong opening next year was a book originally.

Could the Hulk refurbishment have anything to do with the Nintendo deal? Honestly can't see why they would change it but Nintendo is usually very secretive.

They might want the property the skyplex sets on.

The Skyplex tower/roller coaster thing is understandable. That thing looks gaudy and cheap, like a traveling carnival ride. And unlike the Ferris wheel down the road, Universal guests in the park would be able to see that tower peeking above the sight lines while in the actual park, which would absolutely break immersion.

As for the Hulk, I'm fairly certain they're building an entirely new Hulk-themed ride, possibly even changing the design of the track. Maybe they're holding off on revealing this until the holidays. Not a big deal.
