Oh please, please, TPTB, open a reasonably-priced campground over there!!!!!

WHY rent / lease something for cheap, when you can leverage your investment, and make much more $?

I expect Disney will build a Fifth gate. I would be surprised if it's open by 2021 though with all the other capital investment needed from Parks and Resorts (Expected Star Wars and/or Marvel Total Themed Environments to compete with Wizarding World, for example) between now and 2020. More likely, I would expect the new Park to be announced then and opened around 2024 to complete the project, with a Preview Centre opening its doors for the 50th Anniversary Celebrations. Not sure what the Park would be though. A Star Wars park would be the most exciting option, but with the Star Wars expansion expected at Studios it would either render redundant or deprecate an existing massive investment. On the other hand, the oft suggested "Vilains" theme has always seemd a little weak to me and Marvel is unavailable. I'd like to see the Star Wars park myself, but the timeline just doesn't seem to add up. Unless they actually DO fast track the park for 2021 and something else entirely is coming to Hollywood Studios...Presumably something Pixar-related, since Marvel would be creatively limiting due to the contractual issues.

OMG, a Star Wars themed park would appeal to a SMALL fraction of the populous (or, a majority of geek-nerds). Yes, I am sure they would fall in love, but if you are not a fan of Star Wars, you likely would not step foot on property.

As it is now, Harry Potter is either a hit, or huge flop. Not everyone is a Potter fan. Those who are not have very little reason to enter that park. LESSON LEARNED! Do not put all of your eggs in one basket!

Harry Potter is a roaring success and Star Wars is the largest entertainment property in the world. If you actually think a well-executed Star Wars park wouldn't be a success, you are deeply misguided.

On the one hand, would be great to leverage my Marriott status and earn points while traveling to WDW... but I actually love staying at Disney Resort hotels so not sure I'll enjoy the temptation to stay elsewhere.

Also, big thing would be if they include good transportation to the parks. The bus system has its cons, but by and large, it's a good robust way to get where you need to go.

Will these be considered part of the disney world resort aND have the perks of staying at one?

I drive home through Western Way to avoid 192 on my way home. I have always loved the peacefulness of that area, the beautiful orange groves and the abandoned look of it all. I knew the story of why the huge intersection was there but I didn't mind. I heard it was supposed to be a shopping district for cast members though. Lately I had been wondering why there was so much road construction on Hertzog Road which almost looked like a gravel road until a few weeks ago. So I guess now I'm going to have to find a new way home to avoid that whole mess while I was already trying to find a new way home to avoid the whole mess of 192. I hate this idea. Disney hardly fills the hotel rooms it has right now except during very peak seasons. And this will kill the already suffering hotels around that area. 192 is a ghost town of empty decrepit hotels.

The Swan and Dolphin DO offer some of the perks that other disney resorts offer such as extra magic hours transportation to and drom the parks as well as character dinning and a disney store in each resort. Im pretty sure Disney will offer the same kind of deals at these new hotels to keep more peope to stay on property like this future area was designed for
