Why not build an covered Universal a Theme Park (The Wizarding World of Harry Potter) at least in Scotland. If it were build up near Inverness you would have the convenience of a nearby airport the beauty of the Scottish scenery and of course the near original setting of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It would be accessible to all of Europe and not be so expensive as having to travel to the USA. Lots of children are missing out on this amazing experience because of the ‘extortionate’ cost of travel. It would also be a boost to the economy and jobs!

This idea sounds great, I would definitely love to take our kids there. I like what you are also saying about the location being near the original setting. It has my vote! Thanks for your comment and for reading TPT.

Universal Orlando is my favourite theme park and I hope to god it would open in Europe. Why not try Portugal for the good weather, I don't believe they have any parks that could compare and it would be a welcome boost to there economy plus the people there are good with tourists. No where in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland has a park anywhere near as good as universal, to try and get ok weather go as far south as possible, around cork maybe.

I hope so, but I don't think it's gonna happen. There are already a lot of theme parks in (western)Europe. Like Disneyland Resort Paris, Europa-park and the Efteling and their are not really far from each other. With Germany having 23 theme parks, France 25 and the Netherlands 15.

I would love for universal to come to Europe. Have been to Orlando 3-times now (well 3rd time will be next week!!) and also been to Disneyland Paris.

The major UK parks of Alton Towers and Thorpe Park are doing extremely well, but Disneyland Paris is not... The reasons being it is too small, is horrible and dirty and in Paris... (The staff are also arrogant which I am sure Walt would be ashamed of)

Universal Spain or Italy would ensure the weather, or maybe go for Greece and sort out their economy!! Again like has been said before - it has to be cost effective for the customer...

In Paris we have Disneyland and in Baden ( Southwest Germany ) we have Europapark Rust! Therefore it's not a good idea for another Park of Attractions within 300 miles of distance eachother.

BUT OUR MARKETING COMPANIE made in baden / GERMANY offers a very large terrain between Black Forest and Upper - RHINE ( California of Germany - nearby France and Switzerland ) for the one and only UNIVERSAL STUDIOS E U R O P E made in baden(TM)- Germany/Europe.

As a Brit, it costs about the same for me to "do" Disney Paris for five days as it is to do either Disney or Universal in Orlando for a WEEK! I have done it and the the sums ALWAYS favour the USA. OK if you live closer than I do to Dover, it could work out a better deal, but by the time I get to Dover/Paris/Disney I can get to Orlando and have almost guaranteed pleasent weather and the added bonus of not being in France.

My point is, Universal would have to work extreamly hard to reduce the European price point so low to make it visitable that it would be very hard to be financially viable. Disney Paris isn't going away anytime soon, but thier revenue is down and visitor numbers down, why would Universal move to a deminishing market when numbers are improving everywhere else?

Sorry, ain't gonna happen anytime soon, or in my lifetime.

No, I don't think Universal will enter the theme park market in Western Europe especially with Paramount already beating them to it in Murcia. Universal's pull out of Port Aventura just shows that they are more interested in exsisting markets and developments. If they were going to invest in the region then I feel that they would have done this by now rather than go for the South East Asia market which if the Korea park is green lit they have done whole heartedly. With Parks like Disneyland Resort Paris, MovieWorld in Germany and Caneva Movie World in Italy they probably feel the market is already saturated???!!!

I've been to Florida 2 times and tbh it's really expensive and mainstream, I do wish it came to Europe as it will bring ,re money to the company and the weather is great in the med.

I'm British and the theme parks in Britain are great, and in Spain there would be better if so universal is best to fit a park there!

Yes, I do think Both MGM Stands For Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Universal are going to enter the theme park market in Western Europe Such As in France Such As in Meaux First, especially with Paramount already beating them to it in Murcia. Universal's pull out of Port Aventura just shows that they are more interested in exsisting markets and developments. If they were going to invest in the region then I feel that they would have done this by now rather than go for the South East Asia market which if the Korea park is green lit they have done whole heartedly.
