4. There will be detailed maps to and from all locations involving Disney

Most Disney maps lack specificity. Image © Disney

To describe the various Disney amusement parks as sprawling if anything undersells them. A person can receive a marvelous workout simply by traversing the landscape. With so many rides, restaurants and shows at each facility, anyone can get lost. Disney realizes this problem. The MyDisneyExperience app currently includes a map of the various parks, complete with zoom features. As you can see from the picture above, however, it still lacks in specificity.

What I envision in the very near feature is a photo-real map based upon the user’s current location. From there, the person can plot a course to their next destination then follow the precise directions using visual imagery. Once Disney implements this technology, nobody will ever get lost again, which makes this subtle enhancement of a current feature the holy grail of improved amusement park experiences. No one will ever have to ask a Disney employee for directions ever again. They can simply check their phone.

5. On-site photography will insert people into Disney animated images

Okay, this sounds like the most outlandish projection I have made thus far. Bear with me as I explain my thought process. There is already a feature in play at Disney theme parks called the Magic Shot. If you ask an official park photographer to utilize this gimmick, you will be rewarded with a picture such as the one above. When you stand to the side, a camera trick automatically inserts Disney characters into the image. Olaf the snowman is the most popular of these at the moment due to the popularity of Frozen but there are numerous choices available.

I do not believe I am asking too much of Disney’s Imagineers to predict an enhanced version of the magic shot soon. In a superior version of the photograph, a GIF should include interaction between the customer and the animated Disney character. Currently, people can brag to their friends that they had their picture taken with Olaf. Imagine if they had the ability to juggle Olaf’s torso and nose in a moving picture. GIFs are all the rage on the internet right now. Plus, people have always fantasized about being in a Disney movie. With only a few adjustments to the process currently in place, this dream should become a reality.

The old app may work on the Iphone4s but you can only download the latest version app and it will only download for the newest IOS on the Iphones. We couldn't download the app because we have an older IOS on our Iphone4s.

Same goes for other apps. You can't get them unless you have the latest IOS. Or you can't update your apps for the same reason. Unless there is a way to download an older version app in the app store?

I guess the hyperplanners win, as Disney can book their revenue with some degree of certainty. Having been a Florida annual placeholder for 28 years, I shudder to think how many thousands of dollars I've shoveled into Disney's maw. It costs them nothing to keep me and others like me as customers, yet we're regarded as slightly worse than stale dog vomit.
