Have you been to Fun Spot in Orlando recently? When the Orange County's strike team conducted a surprise inspection of the park recently, it was deemed 'not in compliance' with COVID-19 safety guidelines.

The reason given for this decision, was because too many guests inside the park were not wearing masks. According to a local news station WFTV, Fun Spot CEO and owner John Arie Jr. said,  "It’s hard for his employees to enforce a mask ordinance, when even law enforcement is not doing so."

The park has signs up clearly stating that masks must be worn and they give out free masks to those that arrive without one. It says on their official website that, "Per Orange County Executive Order No 2020-23, all patrons of Fun Spot America must wear face masks at our Orlando park. We recommend you bring your own."

As have all reopened theme parks, Fun Spot has implemented enhanced cleaning procedures including the increased wiping down of rides. Temperature checks are also being conducted as guests enter the park.

Although health and safety procedures are in place, it looks like it comes down to the fact that employees are not enforcing the mandatory mask wearing rule, meaning that some guests just aren't adhering to it.

Five other local parks were also inspected including Gatorland, Wonderworks, Thrill Park, Arcade City and Magical Midway, all of which were said to be in compliance with COVID-19 safety procedures.

We loved our visit to Fun Spot in 2012 and their wooden coaster White Lightning was a real highlight of our trip. If you have been to Fun Spot since it reopened, let us know about your experience by commenting below or on our Facebook page.

We went sunday the 24th and it was horrible no social distancing and no mask are being worn. Really sad use to be a good park probably wont be coming back and im a season pass holder. Ceo should be fired and need to start managing the parks better. You guys are really going down hill quick and to top it off a fight broke out and no security to stop it fight was about 15 min before orlando police finally came. Park is not worth it anymore. And yet 8 months ago i would have said one of the best parks. But now no way

That's really sad to hear, we loved it when we went to Orlando a number of years ago. Hopefully things will be pulled around in the future as it would always usually be on our to-do list for when we visit. Thanks for your honesty.

I went to Fun Spot America and had to tell a few people to step back because they were not following the markers (albeit many ground markers were missing), and was given attitude by the guest. While some were following entranced procedures the time that we attended, many areas seemed very lax in enforcement and, in some cases, attractions were not getting cleaned or sanitized properly, namely the go-karts. We went on a weekday, so the crowds were not as much of an issue, but I'd hate to see what it is like on a busier weekend day or night.

So Fun Spot, that is mostly open air attractions, has been found not in compliance with masks regulations, but Wal-Mart, that is a closed space let's anyone come in without one. There is something wrong with this logic. Why is Wal-Mart not also found to be in non compliance?

I'm sorry, but the idea of "we can't enforce wearing masks" is ludicrous and absurd.
Theme parks (including this one) have dress codes which are enforced, such as no bathing suits, no vulgar t-shirts, men must wear pants, women's dresses can't be too short, and so on. But suddenly they're saying "we can't enforce what people wear"?
