In order to gain entrance to a Walt Disney World theme park, all guests, no matter whether they are staying on-site or somewhere else, will need valid admission tickets as well as an arrival reservation time. And with less than a month to go before reopening it looks like Disney has finally released some information about how and when guests can use the just-announced Disney Park Pass System to make reservations to visit the Walt Disney World theme parks in the coming months.

The Disney Park Pass system will debut next week

Disney has announced details on the Disney Parks Pass system this week, which will be used from now through September 26 2021 (date subject to change)  to manage park attendance. In order to access this system, guests will need to visit the Walt Disney World website via a desktop or mobile device, and log in with their My Disney Experience account.

Once logged in guests will be able to select one park per day of their visit, as park hopping will be temporarily unavailable upon the reopening of the theme parks due to attendance limitations. Guests who have paid more for tickets with the park hopper option should receive information in the coming days about a partial refund.

In an effort to manage early bookings, new ticket sales are still unavailable, and the guests can make reservations beginning on the following days:

  •  June 22, 2020, Disney Resort and other select hotel Guests with valid theme park admission can make reservations.

  •  June 26, 2020, Annual Passholders without a Resort stay can make reservations.

  •  June 28, 2020, existing ticket holders not staying on property can make reservations.

Hello. I'm staying off park and have tickets purchased starting for use the first week in January. The date I can access the reservation system is June 28. Is my family "competing" only with other people who already have tickets or will we be competing with new ticket purchasers? I had read elsewhere that 2021 tickets will go on sale BY June 28, which I interpret to mean that I have very little advantage over people who don't currently have tickets because they could purchase them by the time the reservation system is open to me.

Right now I'm not sure there's an advantage for guests who purchased tickets in advance vs. 2021 package holders/ticket purchasers, the system is just opening for everyone tomorrow, so you will definitely want to get in ASAP to secure a spot. Good luck!

Please can you advise how this system is going to work with the UK 7, 14 and 21 day tickets? Thank you

Hi Rachel, once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and UK guests are able to visit Walt Disney World, although there hasn't been an official announcement on this just yet, we'd assume they'll have length of stay pass reservations available. Thanks for reading and kind regards.
