Walt Disney World Tips
Listed below are Walt Disney World tips submitted by Theme Park Tourist readers and editors. Do you have a tip that could help other theme park visitors save time, save money or just have a better time on their next trip to Walt Disney World? Why not add it now? You'll need to register first.
The California Grill is an excellent choice for those on the Disney Dining plan. Although it counts for two full service meals per person, it has amazing food and views over the Magic Kingdom. Book a table for approximately 8pm and marvel at the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks while sipping on a glass of wine. The music is even piped in so there is a fantastic atmosphere!
Book a table at one of the many restaurants in Epcot’s World Showcase then spend the rest of the evening wandering around with a beer or cold drink- it is really amazing!!!
This may seem extreme but if you don't book as early as you can then don't be surprised if you can't get into the restaurants you want to. It pays to read up on the numerous restaurants (The Unofficial guide has loads of good information) and plan which park you are likely to be in on each day of your visit. Early booking will avoid disappointment.
Bring a bottle and fill it up at the water fountains in the parks, saving money and time queuing at concession stands. Also, although you aren't technically allowed to bring your own snacks, Disney will usually turn a blind eye to a few small items which you can nibble on during the day.
Many of the animals at Disney's Animal Kingdom are more active during the morning, when the weather is less hot. Try heading to the park early to catch them at their most playful.
Although FASTPASS is a great option for avoiding the lines on Expedition Everest, try and see the full queue line at least once (go early in the morning to avoid the crowds). It's incredibly detailed, and almost a walkthrough attraction in itself.
If you buy a parking ticket for one Walt Disney World park, it's valid for the rest of the day at all of the resort's parks. If you "hop" to another park, don't pay again!
It's remarkable how many visitors to Disney parks fail to take advantage of the FASTPASS system - and that's all the more reason to make sure you are one of the savvy ones. On busy days, maximize your use of FASTPASS to reserve time windows during which you can return to join the much shorter FASTPASS line instead of the regular queue.
If you love cheesy places, book a table at the Sci-Fi Diner and enjoy your dinner sitting in a car watching old movie adverts on a massive screen. It takes you back to the days of Drive in movies. The food is typically standard but the experience is so fun!!!!!
