It's remarkable how many visitors to Disney parks fail to take advantage of the FASTPASS system - and that's all the more reason to make sure you are one of the savvy ones. On busy days, maximize your use of FASTPASS to reserve time windows during which you can return to join the much shorter FASTPASS line instead of the regular queue.

If you plan to ride Crush's Coaster at Walt Disney Studios, arrive at least 30-45 minutes before the park opens and rush straight to it. The ride suffers from very poor capacity, and long queues are likely for the rest of the day.

If you want to hit the rides in Toy Story Playland, try and head there during the first half an hour an the park opens. Although they are not as popular as the Tower of Terror or Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, they have a much lower capacity and queues build quickly. Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop is the worst offender - try and ride it first.

Aim to arrive at least 30 mins before Walt Disney Studios opens. Usually, most (if not all) waiting guests form a queue at the right hand set of entrance gates. Instead, head to the left hand set, and you should find yourself in pole position to make the dash to Crush's Coaster when the park opens.
