Although the Studio Tour is undoubtedly the biggest (and best) attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, there's no need to rush to it as soon as the park opens. Head to lower capacity attractions such as The Simpsons Ride and The Mummy Returns first, and save the high-throughput tour for later when the other rides are busy.
Universal has cranked up the "soak-factor" on Jurassic Park River Adventure - you WILL get completely drenched. To avoid queues you need to ride early in the morning after the lower lot opens, but definitely bring some spare clothes as soaking wet underwear does not make for a fun day out.
Arriving early can make a huge difference to your day at Universal Studios Hollywood. Get to the park 30 minutes before opening, and head straight to the Simpsons Ride. You can then be first in line to head to down to the Lower Lot and The Mummy Returns coaster when it opens. This will save you hours of waiting in line during the rest of the day.
