Universal Studios Florida Reviews and Guide

Like its sister park in Los Angeles, Orlando's version of Universal Studios combines a theme park with a working movie and television studio. However, unlike in Hollywood, production very much takes second place to the park's rides and shows - which include some of the most cutting-edge attractions in the world. These are spread across 7 heavily-themed zones - Production Central, Hollywood, New York, San Francisco/Amity, World Expo, Woody Woodpecker's KidZone and The Lagoon.

History: Universal's second theme park was the first to be designed from the ground-up as a tourist attraction. Although the company lost the race to open Florida's first movie-themed park to Disney (with Disney's Hollywood Studios opening a year earlier in 1989), the park has proven to be a huge success. Recent years have seen major additions such as The Simpsons Ride and Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit - helping to establish the park as the seventh most popular in the world in 2008.
