Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission:BREAKOUT At Disney California Adventure

TikTok is loved by many people but nobody can deny that a number of trends launched on this platform are just plain ridiculous and outright dangerous.

According to the OC Register, a trend has been started by influencers on TikTok which encourages people to not fasten their seatbelt properly on Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout in order to increase airtime on the drop tower.

According to Disney officials, this reckless behaviour has been seen at Disney California Adventure on a number of occasions recently which has forced Disney to add new signage at the beginning of the ride.

The sign reads "KEEP SEAT BELT SECURELY FASTENED AND TIGHT AGAINST THE WAIST. FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN BEING ASKED TO LEAVE THE PARK."

Those who have ridden Disney's Twighlight Zone Tower of Terror will recognise the ride experience in this accelerated drop tower dark ride based on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy which opened in 2017.  As riders you will have a mission to rescue Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Drax and Groot who are held captive in electrified glass cases that dangle perilously over an abyss.  With free-fall drop sequences and 6 different storylines to experience, no two rides will be the same.

We hope that those guests who are thinking about being swayed by TikTok influencers will take heed of this warning at Disney California Adventure and ensure that they make the right decision and follow the safety protocols in place for their own and other guests safety.
