5 Character Changes at Walt Disney World You Need to Know About (May 2017)

Character meet and greets are a big part of what makes a trip to Walt Disney World so special, and in recent months Disney has taken it upon themselves to make a number of improvements and changes to each park's character line-up. While not all of these changes are always popular with guests, Disney is constantly making adjustments to try and make character offerings as diverse as possible while still keeping things running efficiently around the parks.

In this month's character update, two new Marvel characters show up at One Man's Dream, two new experiences debut at the Magic Kingdom, plus a Star Wars character is rumored to be returning to Disney's Hollywood Studios in the very near future...

As rumored previously, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 characters Star Lord and Baby Groot are now meeting guests at Disney's Hollywood Studios inside the One Man's Dream attraction where Moana was previously meeting just a few weeks ago. This new Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 meet and greet is expected to continue through the end of the year (presumably ending sometime after this film's DVD release). This is certainly an exciting development, and actually marks the second time a Marvel Cinematic Universe character has met at Disney's Hollywood Studios (Doctor Strange met guests last year, and Big Hero 6 doesn't really count). Though we doubt very much that we'll be seeing any other Marvel characters any time soon thanks to the contract with Universal, this is certainly a unique meet and greet and it will be interesting to see how mans respond to this new experience.

Though the Moana meet and greet that was previously in this space was a fan favorite, there has been some speculation that this character will be relocating to Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom sometime in the near future.

2. Mr. Incredible to meet guests at the Magic Kingdom for a few weeks

The Incredibles Super Dance Party had its final performance last week on April 30 2017, and while we're waiting for the new Cosmic Dance Party to debut later this month Disney has announced a temporary new entertainment offering for Tomorrowland in the form of a Mr. Incredible meet and greet, which will be available from now until May 18. Mr. Incredible has not been a meetable character for several years (outside of special events) so if this is one that you have on your bucket list, you'll want to head over to this park very soon!
