3 Discounts and Deals Walt Disney World Guests Can Take Advantage of Right NowBy Amanda Kondolojy, Thursday, December 29, 2016 00:30
3. "Kindermoon" preschool age child deal includes additional FastPass+ entitlements
While we've never heard of a "Kindermoon" before, Disney has announced a new package designed for parents wanting to celebrate a special childhood milestone event, which apparently happens the summer before a preschool aged little one goes to Kindergarden. With this new, strangely-titled offer, up to four guests (including the child) can enjoy a 3-night stay in a standard room at a Disney’s All-Star Resort and 2-day Magic Your Way base tickets for as low as $987.
This package is good for stays most Sunday through Thursday nights from February 26 through March 9, and from April 23 through May 25, 2017, but guests will need to book this special offer by February 26, 2017, which is just eight weeks from now.
Interestingly, this new package is the first we've seen that also includes extra FastPass+ selections for guests specific to this package. Guests who want to book a "Kindermoon" vacation will be able to redeem two additional FastPass+ entitlements beyond their initial three that are good for the following preschool-friendly attractions:
- 1 voucher valid at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Disney Junior Live on Stage!
- 1 voucher valid at Magic Kingdom for your choice of one of the following attractions: Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Ariel's Undersea Adventure , Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor or Mickey's PhilharMagic Concert
While this isn't the first deal that we've seen for Walt Disney World families with young children, the addition of extra FastPass+ entitlements for added value is certainly something new, and it will be interesting to see if this aspect of this deal is expanded in the future. While Universal Orlando Resort has always offered free Express passes to the majority of its on=property guests, this is the first time Walt Disney World has offered such a perk.
Though we know that 2017 isn't exactly going to be a banner year for new attractions the same way 2016 was (and will likely kick off with a whole bunch of closings), Disney looks like they are going to be offering some really aggressive deals and discounts for guests to try and get as many vacationers on the fence about visiting Walt Disney World this year to take the plunge and stop by this year. Of course, as you might notice, all of these deals have a late summer expiration date, which lends credence to the theory that Disney is targeting a late August or early September launch date for Pandora - The World of Avatar, which (along with Rivers of Light) will be the only significant opening at the resort in 2017.
Do you think you'll be taking advantage of any of these deals and discounts in the coming year? Or are you holding out for something better in the latter half of 2017, hopefully after Pandora - The World of Avatar is open? Let us know in the comments below!
