Sea World Australia to open Seal Harbour exhibit by Christmas 2012By , Thursday, August 23, 2012 08:50
Sea World Australia has announced that it will open a new interactive seal exhibit, Seal Harbour, ahead of Christmas 2012.
GoldCoast.com.au reports that Seal Harbour will feature a 3.6-million litre pool, which will be divided into three sub-pools. It will also boast a white sand beach, and is set to house sea lions alongside the seals that will lend it its name.
Visitors to Sea World will be able to take part in feeding sessions, getting up-close to the large marine mammals. A variety of species will be on display, including New Zealand and sub-Antarctic fur seals and Australian and Californian sea lions.
Sea World is planning another major addition in 2013, with a new attraction set to replace the former Bermuda Tringle ride. There are strong rumours that the park will install a Mack Water Coaster, similar in style to the Journey to Atlantis rides at the unrelated SeaWorld parks in the US.
